Avondale Flea Market Finds

Yesterday Vicky, Sarah, and I all went to the Avondale Flea Market. It was my first time ever going and I found a few things. Here they are...

First thing here is a wooden "sock stretcher" (as the lady explained that sold it to me). I got it because I thought it would look great up on the wall. I put it above the guest bed for now. I think it looks a bit naked and odd here, but I'll try it out for a while.

Next is a chalkboard. I wasn't looking for a chalkboard, but Sarah was. She saw this one from a distance, but it wasn't quite what she had in mind. I ended up getting it because it was only $5. Here it is in my kitchen now.
Something small I got was some coasters that were sold as coasters, but I don't think they are coasters. They will be used as coasters...
I ran up on a man who was selling a lot of old tools and having himself an "irish" coffee. He had these old windows and I thought they would look interesting up on the wall. He wanted $20 for all four of them so I held off. I eventually went back and talked him down to taking $12 for the four. Here they are today on my living room wall. I love how it turned out. My husband wasn't too thrilled because he had to hang them, but once it was done he was very impressed. Another good thing is that it makes this small wall look larger because the windows stretch from end to end.

Now for my favorite find of the day! I got this big box of golf balls for James. He was very very pleased to say the least.

Oh Meggy! I'm so glad you got the chalkboard. I love it. It lookd great and you can tell it is old.

The windows look awesome (and I never use that word, unless I am truly amazed at something). Fantastic idea. James did good hanging them too.

Always appease the hubby with something great! Good thinking.

Did you count the golf balls? ;)

LOVE, love, love the windows!

Do you have a big frame to put around the sock? Or maybe you could find more of them for a grouping.

Hi there, just doing a little blog exploring tonight. Ahhhhh, those ARE indeed coasters! I used to work at Pier One Imports, we sold coasters that looked just like that, I have a set myself. I love the windows on the wall, that looks great.
