A few weeks ago when Sarah and I painted her table her mom came by to see us with a few yard sale finds. One of which was this old tray that was just the edges. I bought it back from her for $1 which is what she paid for it. She had this idea and I thought it was a great one... to make into a frame.

Here it is up on my wall. It's flying solo for now. I haven't found anything to frame yet with it. I kinda like it alone though.
Here's a closer look at the detail. I might paint it, what do you think?

Girl, you look so much like my friend it's crazy. Her name is Katrina though.
What a great idea to use the serving tray for a frame. I love it when things are used differently. I'm not sure about painting it though. I kind of like the weathered look. :-)
Oh, one more thing...I just love your scary background. :-)
What a cute blog, and all such clever posts!! I love to recycle things for a new and different purpose.
I agree, I would not paint it. It would be cool with some neat fabric covering a cork board. Someone did something like that and I marked it in Google reader. I will have to look back and find it. I have an empty frame too that I need to do something with. I was thinking about hanging smaller frames inside it with pictures or letters in it.
Hello Meg...it's nice to 'meet' you here in blogland! lol That old tray frame has great potential! Wow you are a nursing student...that is fantastic! I want to thank you for coming by my place and for sharing our joy about our sweet little granddaughter's birth...take care sweetie and have a great weekend1
How about hanging a plate or a smaller picture or frame inside of it. Did you try the sock in it?
