Tallulah River Camping Trip

Over the weekend my husband and I went camping with two other couples. You might recognise Vicky and Sarah. When we loaded up our car it was completely packed. We couldn't have fit one more thing. We couldn't see out the back so it was difficult to drive, but we made it there safe and sound thanks to my husbands mad driving skills. I had to take this pic of the road because I wanted to remember why I was so carsick!
Finally we got there! I took this pic while we drove over one of many bridges to get to the campsite. I thought I heard banjo music. So weird!
On the way to town we ran across this ice machine graveyard. So, this is where they go to die.
Aside from the ice machine graveyard, there was a mini toilette graveyard!

Another view on the way to town. This time more appeasing to the eyes.
We went to this flea market and when we drove in Vicky said "Oh look, they have apples......... and cabbage!? haha! Weird combination, but whatever!
It was a pretty big flea market, but everything was a little overpriced. Here is Sarah about to smell that wooden trunk for reasons unknown to me.
At the flea market restroom you can look over at your neighbor and say howdy if you so choose. Here, everyone gets caught with their pants down!

I don't know what's funnier: seeing everyone's faces as they were in stalls, us taking pictures in the bathroom, or Sarah saying "This is my favorite bathroom EVER!!!" They also had a really weird sink that had foot pedals, so I think that's what sold it for Sarah.
Here are some really pretty tomatoes!

They had tons of apples! Vicky and Sarah got some, but I saved my money for the boiled peanuts of course!
Vicky's sweet girl found an apple that she couldn't resist. The lady at the counter was nice enough to give it to her.
We stopped here on our way back to the campsite. They had a lot of very old antiques, high dollar though.

Love your pics of the trip...I am going to be leaving tomorrow night and heading near Helen and Brasstown Bald so I won't be to far. I just love the mountains! I hope I come across some neat flea markets for some goodies.

Very haughting ice machine graveyard. I wonder how it is at night...hehehe

Looks like you had a great time!

Okay that is so funny. I always say, I can hear the banjo music when we get in the middle of nowhere. It looks like so much fun. Don't you hate the high dollar antiques and flea markets when you can buy the same junk at Goodwill or other flea markets that are cheap? The covering of the stool is simple!! Buy a yard of fabric. Screw off the top, there is usually screws. Place the fabric on and use a stapler gun to attach. Then screw it all back together. It is simple, and cheap and cute. Try and find one at a thrift store, I just got another for $5 that is even bigger. Thanks for the comments!

Aside from the creepy graveyards :), and the overly public restrooms...what a great weekend. To get away with your friends and unwind. Good for you!!

Wow. I haven't been there in years. I'd love to go back. We bought nag champa and it stank up the car for the whole trip and made me sick.
Some friends of mine just went there as well but they chickened out and stayed in a cabin.
You should check out there pics @ "All This Trouble" in the Rooked link list.

Weird. Synchronicity.

What C.S. calls "chickening out", I call good, sound planning.

We had a great time. It wasn't quite so autumnal when we went but beautiful nonetheless.

I dig the dead iceyard and your blog.
Let's be cyberfriends!
