St. Simmons Island Wedding

Over the weekend James and I went to St. Simmons for my cousin's wedding. The ceremony was in front of the lighthouse by the ocean.

The food they had at the reception was amazing. Especially the shrimp and grits!!! They had big band music and my aunt's surprised me with some crazy dance moves!
I took some pics of the surrounding because I thought it was such a great location.

This iron window guard was very pretty. I thought the fact that they placed a printed wooden description of the small house cheapened the whole thing. They should have made an iron plaque and placed it alongside the building or something. It forced you to remember what time you're living in.

The reason I took this picture is two-fold. I wanted to acknowledge the order they laid the bricks. One whole brick, one half brick... and so on. It's a very old structure. If I ever get to build my dream house the parts that require brick will be done in this fashion. Also I wanted to point out the iron holding the shutters closed. Once again, on my dream house I will have functioning shutters and they will have these iron clads. I don't like the idea behind shutters that aren't functioning. What has this world come to? No, but seriously!

Wow, what a neat setting Meg! I love all the pictures and the details.

I think it's a good pic of you & James too.

Amen for dysfunctional shutters. Your hair looks great in that pic.
