James and I have unsuccessfully been trying to sell our home. We aren't the least bit surprised that it hasn't sold though because of the market. I'm starting to accept that I will not be building my dream Bungalow style house any time soon. So I'm actually starting to show my house some love. Here's a pic of it.

I really think it would look better if the brick were whitewashed. Does anyone have experience with whitewashing and if so would you care to share it with me??? It would be MUCH appreciated! Here's a pic of some whitewashed brick.

Everything I can find on the web says that painting brick is a big can of worms and not to do it, but that whitewashing is a maintenance free alternative that is cheap and you can do it yourself. I'm all about that! What do you think?
Also,
here and
here are a couple of links with Halloween clip art my sis-in-law Christina gave me and I wanted to share. You might recognise her from "
As Time Goes By". Here is what I did with them.

You know, I have always said if I ever had a brick house that I would whitewash it. I just love the look of it! And I have heard that it is low maintenance compared to painting. But I have no idea how to do it! I think it would look beautiful though! Thanks for visiting me today!

I just knew you would use that cute little skeleton. Those look great, Meg. The owls turned out so cute.
I don't know anything about whitewashing brick either, but love the look.
I love the owls! I think that I might have to go to the sight and get some! I saw a girl's blog who used paper owls-she put them on a branch and had the branch up by her slider-so It looked like it was growing there! I loved it and have been looking for owls ever since then! Thanks for the ideas! I am going to post what I made last night at 11:00-all yoiur fault! The whole time I was thinking, if I only had some MM&S this would be much more enjoyable!
You know who might be able to give you some pointers on whitewashing brick is the THE NESTER. For some reason I am thinking that she did a post about this. Maybe even Kimba-A soft place to land. I think that it would look great! I also love the tray frame! Great lines!
SOrry for the novel-I just didn't want you to be bored this sunday!
Your house would look really nice white washed. Maybe you could call pro painters in the phone book and ask their opinions.
I like the garland and the book pumpkins! And the wall of windows looks fantastic!
I love the art you made. The owls look great as well.
I also love whitewashed brick. You find out how to do it, whitewash it and then let me know how it turns out and maybe I can talk hubs into it! ;)
Morning Meg! Ohhhh I love whitewashed brick....I don't know anything about it but I saw them do it on Curb Appeal once and it was gorgeous! It would give your home a whole new feel! Thanks so much for coming by sweetie and for that precious comment on little Isabella...you should see the look on Little 3 yr old Sofie's face when she ever so softly barely kisses her little cheek...oh it is priceless! lol Take care and have a great week!
Your home is so cute!
I have NO experience white washing so I cannot help you there at all - sorry! I am sure whatever you do will look great.
Hey, thanks so much for the heads-up on the Halloween clip-art. So appreciated.
I just made a little Halloween pixie fairy and put her in a candle holder. However, I paid $2.50 at an antique store for the photo. Now, I will check out these sites first before buying any more vintage photos. Feel free to come take a peek at my pixie. : )

Your house is so cute, I think window boxes would look awesome. I like the brick but I'm sure the other might look good too. You could always paint the door that is a cheap easy update or get a new door with side lights or something which would cost more but might add a lot of value. I'm trying to sell my house back in AR it has been over a year and the price is pretty much what we paid for it 3yrs ago. Keep praying!
Ok, I love the idea of whitewashing! And the clip are is super cute!
I love the look of white washed brick, so I say go for it.
Your Halloween clip art has my head spinning with ideas. How super fun are those images!?!
I have been noticing owls in everything lately and they are so darn cute! I like whitewashed brick, but I like the original colors too...
Oh my.
I dig this, too.
